Begin with Yourself

Before extending compassion to the whole world, begin with your own pain instead of escaping your own wounds.

Open-endedCore: Witnessing

Practice style

  1. When pain is present, pause instead of immediately distracting yourself.
  2. Let the feeling be seen and held within the breath.
  3. When there is enough inner space, offer the same spaciousness to others.
Do Not Lose the Witness
The method is only an entrance. Whether it uses breath, dance, sound, darkness, sitting, or relationship, what matters most is gradually seeing what is happening rather than only chasing an experience.
